Closing day checklist

Here’s what you need for an easy closing day:

  • Bring a picture ID—and make sure that your ID isn’t expired!
  • Check with your lender and your realtor for the exact funds needed and if you’ll need a wire transfer or a cashier’s check. If possible, it’s best to do this a day or two in advance—just in case.
  • Contact your utility companies to make sure your gas, water, and electricity will be turned on or transferred to your new home.
